Major Services

Comprehensive medical care of normally and abnormally functioning female reproductive system, with special emphasis on pre-existing conditions which treaten the well- being of the mother or fetus, is provided by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The department works closely with Regional Newborn Intensive Care Unit at UAB Hospital and physicians statewide to manage high-risk pregnancies.

Other Services offered include the treatment of:

Malignancies of the female reproductive system.

Endocrine disorders related to female reproductive system

Difficult gynecological problems, including: urodynamics, infertility and genetics/prenatal diagnosis
