Information Technology Group
OBGYN Information Technology Services Support Group provides the
support:
* Receives requests for Information Technology services such as new equipment purchase
assistance and modification recommendations.
* Evaluating the technological needs of the departmental applications, projects
and Development of any processes, projects, applications, etc. using technological
resources, means, and methods to enhance the Department’s functionality and productivity.
* Management of all Department IT resources includes procurement of equipment, software,
etc., maintenance of inventory, licenses, and financial matters related to these
resources, and equipment disposition of these IT resources.
* Protection of Department data. This is done through the implementation of
security methods, data protection methods backup methods and offsite storage of backup data,
and implementation of HIPAA standards regarding protection of patient information on Departmental servers, databases, client workstations, etc..
OBAR/Electronic Medical Record System Group
The Obstetrics Automated Record (OBAR) System is among the division's most powerful resources.
With all obstetric data computerized, clinic records are immediately available
at any time to Doctors, residents and staff providing in-house care to patients. Additionally
the system provides tremendous research resource.
* Collects, reviews and enters obstetric and research data for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Prenatal, Maternity Evaluation, Delivery and Research information is collected and entered by the team on a daily basis.
* Provide service reports to Viva Health for Steps Ahead Maternity Waiver Program.
* Provide reports for the MSO Department for billing purposes.
* Provide Perinatal Statistics for Director of the Department and Managers.
Department is currently developing a Electronic Medical Record System to replace
the current OBAR system.
